Please join us for ForeCast on Sunday 11th July. Jane will be leading our service and Bob Hicks will be sharing from Mark 8:1-26.The theme this week, in our continuing series on the Gospel of Mark, is “Jesus – drawing us to faith in him”. Part of the reading includes the healing of a blind man and our focus will particularly be on sight. You might want to have a pen and paper handy as there will be a brain teaser.
As you prepare, set aside fifteen minutes to spend time in worship. The first three songs Jane has chosen all talk about sight. Our privilege in seeing Jesus is not just a matter of physical sight.
Be Thou My Vision, Nathan Pacheco, 3’44”
It Is Well, Philippa Hanna, 4’35”
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, Shane and Shane 4’55”
These three songs, some of which have been adapted, were all originally written by people who went through difficult circumstances and yet could lift their eyes beyond them to see Jesus. May this be truth for you this week.
The final song reminds us that we want people to see Jesus through us and what God has called us to be.
Nobody, Casting Crowns ft Matthew West, 3’52”
Peace, joy and vision. See you on Sunday!
