The children looked at the next part of the Israelites’ journey – they had seen God do some amazing things to rescue them from Egypt, but they were really forgetful and started to grumble about how hard life was, even though God was still looking after them!
God also gave them 10 rules that would help them to live the best possible lives. But of course, the people forgot those things too, and ended up breaking the rules. We break these too, sometimes on purpose, sometimes accidentally. Jesus was the only one who ever kept them perfectly. But even though we break the rules, God loves us and forgives us when we say sorry to him.
Think about: sometimes we can be forgetful like the Israelites were, and not remember what God has done for us. Spend some time this week remembering! Talk about amazing things God did for people in the Bible or what he’s done for your family. Maybe you could list them all on a piece of paper and see how many things you can come up with!
