The group started by throwing some Lego building blocks on a chalked tower on the floor to try and get some great scores with 100 being the highest.
They then looked at the story of The Tower of Babel and how the people relied on their own power and strength. God knew this would not help them and so confused them all with different languages. Work on the tower stopped, communication changed and people spread throughout the earth. The children had a go at making their own towers.
Think about: we talked about people wanting to reach the heavens and make a name for themselves and live without God. This was doomed, however, and the only way for things to work was for Jesus to come down to us. Jesus speaks to us in whatever language we speak and we can also communicate with him. Thank him for that and maybe pray for someone you know who doesn’t speak your language or perhaps someone you find it hard to get along with.
