Hi everyone! How are you all? Hope you’ve had a good week!

Last week we heard about Elijah, one of the prophets who gave God’s messages to the people of Israel when their kings weren’t listening to God. Elijah wasn’t the only prophet though, and today we’re going to find out about Elisha. He had spent a lot of time with Elijah and had seen some of the amazing things God did through him. Watch this video to see what happened when Elijah was taken up to heaven…

Elisha asked that he would know even more of God’s power than Elijah had – and he certainly ended up seeing God’s power at work in lots of surprising ways! This next video shows one of the miracles God did…

That was just one amazing thing that happened – and there are so many more in the bible! Here’s a quick summary of just a few more miracles…

Talk about it

Where did Elisha’s power come from? Why do you think he was so confident that miracles would happen? Think about the people who saw these miracles – what do you think they thought about Elisha and about God?

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1

Elisha couldn’t see God, but he did see lots of evidence that God was with him! Pray that God will help you to have the same faith as Elisha had and that you will learn to see him at work.

Things to do

Make your own floating/sinking experiment. Don’t forget to ask an adult before you start putting things in water!

See if you can make a junk model raft that will float with a small toy on it. Use old plastic bottles, food containers or cardboard. Make sure it’s big enough to hold the toy you’ve chosen and see how long it floats for!

Elisha had a room designed and built especially for him. Use a piece of A4 paper to design a room for a special guest. What sort of furniture will they need? What other things would your guest enjoy? How will you decorate the room? Let your imagination go wild!
