We always await the first Sunday of the year with great anticipation – what is the Forefront vision for the year to come?
This year, our vision is:
Unashamed – power for salvation
Our verse for the year is:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes
We have various opportunities to see this vision worked out during the year.
ForeWord – the New Testament in a year
As a church, we are hoping to read through the New Testament in a year. You can download a copy of the reading plan here or join our church on the YouVersion Bible app and read through the plan with us online.
Angelgrams
We also launched the idea of ‘angelgrams’. These are secret blessings that we are hoping to bestow on one another throughout the year. Perhaps you want to bake someone a cake, give them a gift, send them an encouraging word or verse? This is all done anonymously and we have little ‘angelgram’ notes to attach to your gift so that the receiver knows that they have been blessed in this way.
Jesus of the Week
Each week, we will be displaying an artistic depiction of Jesus along with some Biblical verses or reflections to back up the thinking behind the image. These will be viewable each Sunday in church and then in Forefront Centre for the remainder of the week.
Things to watch out for
Many of the things that we began last year will be continuing: prayer days and evenings, a night of prayer, Men’s breakfasts, a parent training event and our focus on Life Groups. But also watch out for: worship band training, a marriage enrichment course, Going Deeper (Sunday evening dives into the Bible), a youth drop-in at Forefront and Alpha courses.
