Our Christmas tradition theme this week was rich food, desserts and spices. These all remind us of the riches and spice that the wise men brought to Jesus.
We looked at mince pies in particular and had a few mince pie games including ‘I mince spy with my little eye’.
We read more of our Advent-ure book and also the story of the wise men following the star to find the new King. Not at all where they expected to find him!
The children decorated some salt dough with spices like cloves, black pepper, cinnamon and bay leaves. They will air dry and later they can be tied with ribbon to hang on Christmas trees.
We also had a quick run through of the Nativity play – come and see it on Sun 14th Dec, 10.30am and join us for some traditional mince pies!
