Ebed-Melech

This week we were treated to a new teacher as Amira led the group as a practice run the work the youth will be doing in France. We started off with a game of stuck in the mud with some nifty footwork by all the children.

Amira then shared the story of Ebed-Melech (one of the lesser-known characters in the Bible) with some great hand-drawn pictures. His brave actions rescued Jeremiah from a death in the mud at the bottom of an empty cistern. We talked about things the children could do this week to show kindness to others.

There were plenty of craft options – friendship bracelets, drawing or making a cistern with Jeremiah on a rope to haul to the top.

Think about: try and remember the things you talked about doing this week – and then do them (some parents might see tidy bedrooms!). You might also like to try drawing the story yourself in cartoon style or just pick a scene to do.
