Weakness and strength

This week, we delved back into the Old Testament for a session and looked at the story of David and Goliath, tying in with the subject that the adults were looking at – strengths and weaknesses. One of our leaders was volunteered to be Goliath and the children, armed with balloon cup paper shooters, were awarded points for skilled aims at her.

We then heard the story of David and Goliath and talked about all the amazing things in the story. The most amazing being David’s trust and love of God.

The children made some brilliant pictures out of various food items.

Think about: in this week’s story, David was used to defeat the baddie and prevent the people going into slavery. Jesus came to defeat badness, sin and death and set us free. Thank him for that this week! If you are facing something difficult, remember to pray about it. Can you think of other Bible stories we have learnt about where God used people to defeat badness? Are there any ways you think God could help you to combat bad things?
