Rocks and Topz heard the next part of Jesus’ birth story – God announced the good news by putting a new star in the sky (a hint about next week’s story!) and sent a heavenly choir to announce the message! But even though Jesus was King, the royal messengers weren’t sent to the richest or most powerful people in the land, they were sent to a bunch of smelly shepherds out on the hillside. It was another sign that God’s kingdom worked in a very different way to what people might have expected.
They talked about how the new star in the sky was a bit like Jesus himself, coming into the world to light up the darkness.
Think about: Try to imagine what it must have been like for the shepherds to get such a surprising visit, and for them to be the first people to visit Jesus.
