This week in Rocks and Topz we started the New Testament. It felt a little odd to read the story we usually focus on at Christmas, but the birth of Jesus is always an exciting event!
We reminded ourselves of some of the titles Jesus was given hundreds of years before he was born, including King and Prince of Peace. We imagined the kind of place a royal baby might be born, then compared it to the animal shelter where Jesus was born – quite a difference! We talked about how Jesus was born to an ordinary family and when he grew up he met ordinary people and told them how much God loved them. God’s love wasn’t just for the rich and powerful people who lived in palaces, but for ordinary people like us too!
Think about: reflect on the story of Jesus’ birth – it’s not just for Christmas!
