In Rocks and Topz this week, we spent a lot of time thinking about names! We talked about what each of our names mean (some of them seem to fit better than others…) then looked at a section from Isaiah, whose name means ‘God to the rescue!’

Isaiah lived about 700 years before Jesus was born, yet was able to tell the people so many things about who he would be and what he would do because his message came directly from God. We looked out for some of the names or titles that Isaiah wrote about Jesus: shepherd, light, royal son, Emmanuel, king, servant, hero, lamb, rescuer.

We made some starry pictures with these and other names to help us remember. Each of the stars has a bible verse listed – this week, look up a few of these verses (maybe pick some of the names that mean the most to you) and memorise them.
