This Sunday, Rocks and Topz looked at Mary Magdalene and how her broken and difficult life was completely transformed by Jesus. She spent time travelling on the road with Jesus and his disciples. She was present when Jesus was crucified but in an amazing encounter she was the first person to see Jesus after he rose to life. What an experience that must have been after such grief and sadness!
The children made some stunning plastic cup 'tell the story' crafts. With Mary Magdalene looking on and by twisting the second cup around, they could show the stone being moved and the slab inside with the folded graveclothes. Then a little twist more and Jesus himself appears with nail-pierced hands but alive!
Think about: Mary's life completely changed and she made the decision to follow Jesus. Can you think of anyone else that this happened to in the Bible? If you can think of them, perhaps read their story in the Bible.
