Chard Churches Together have a host of regular/one-off events to follow on from all the fun of holiday club.
Pop-Up Festival Salon - Wed 27th Aug - 11am-3pm
Looking for that festival vibe this summer? Call in at our pop-up festival salon to get your hair/nails/hands done. We can do hair tinsel, hair wraps and henna art as well as nail painting. We’ll even give you refreshments while you wait! Wed 27th Aug, 11am-3pm.
Street Fair @ Chard Baptist Church - Sat 13th Sept - 10am-12.30pm
For Chard Street Fair, the Baptist Church (Holyrood Street), will be opening its doors to welcome families to join in with some fun crafts and other activities along the theme of 'Make a Joyful Noise'.
Nativity Club - from Sun 14th Dec, 10.30am
Every year, Forefront Community Church hosts Nativity Club. This is a chance for children to come along and engage with the Christmas story in a range of fun activities, games and crafts. This runs completely separately to our Sunday morning service, so children will go straight up to the club. At the end of the four weeks, children will be invited to take part in our Nativity Service (Sun 14th Dec). For more information, contact office@forefront.org.uk
Girls' Brigade (Age 4+) - Mondays, 6-7.30pm
During term time, Chard Baptist Church host Girls' Brigade for girls aged 4+. This is a fun-filled evening for girls, helping them to engage and explore the Christian faith. Girls' Brigades have been inspiring an empowering girls and young women since 1893, in an era where women didn't have the vote and girls were given no formal education. Tots on Tuesday - 10-11.30am
During term time, St Mary's Church runs Tots on Tuesday in their Church Rooms. It is an opportunity for parents and their children to engage in a host of activities such as singing, bubbles, crafts and toys. Unlimited tea, coffee and snacks available for a £1 donation.
Tatworth Tots - Tuesdays, 10am-12pm
Tatworth Tots is a community event run by parents at South Chard Church during term time. Mums, dads and family members can enjoy time together while their under 5s mix and play with other children, learning to interact and develop friendships. There are lots of toys and games to play with as well as craft and song time. Sessions start at 10am for a cost of £1.50 which includes unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits.
Together on Tuesdays (5+) - 3.30-5pm
A welcoming group held at St Mary's Church Rooms during term time, from 3.30-5pm. The time is filled with crafts and games, followed by hot food, a Bible story, a song and a prayer. A great opportunity for families to spend time together and connect with others.
Rooted Youth Group - Fridays, 6.30-7.45pm
Rooted is a group for young people (aged 11-18) run twice a month at Forefront Community Centre. Led by the church youth worker and other volunteers, with a range of activities, trips, games, conversation and much more. This is a wonderful, social opportunity to spend time with friends.
