Our story was about the first miracle of Jesus. We kicked off with a water into wine game with grapes frozen in ice cubes. We talked about weddings and then heard the story including a water into wine moment (thanks to some food colouring – don’t tell the children!). Apparently it has been roughly worked out to be 754 bottles of wine in today’s measurements. What an amazing story of the love and care of Jesus and a demonstration of who he was to his new disciples and those around him. We also reminded ourselves that Mary just stated the problem and did not offer any solutions. She trusted in Jesus and that he would work in ways she could not imagine.
The children then made some water into wine moving pictures which came out brilliantly.
