We started off with some (safe) chariot races and then found some puzzle pieces to complete our world map. As a follow up from Around the World for Holiday Club and Passport to the World on Saturday we looked at some of the countries on the Open Doors list of persecuted Christians and churches.
Why a chariot race? As Ethiopia are on the list, we decided to look at the story of Philip and the Ethiopian. Having found it on the map we had an interactive story which culminated in the Ethiopian being baptised. We talked about Philip’s obedience and his enthusiasm to tell others about Jesus and what he did for us.
The children made some chariots with both characters in the story to pop inside and take for a journey around the floor.
