Ebedmelech – the Ethiopian Eunuch

Charles used Jeremiah 38:7-13 and 39:15-18. He spoke of Jeremiah being called as a youth to be God's prophet. King Zedekiah, through his vacillation and weakness, allowed Jeremiah to end up in a dry water cistern. Ebedmelech, an Ethiopian slave of the King, came to the rescue. He spoke truth to power, despite the risk. He came with clothes and ropes and offered Jeremiah, in danger of death, the way out. As the King of love, justice and truth, Jesus comes to us and offers us that way out. The rescue we all need!
