On Sunday, David explored the theme of Jesus' proclamation in the temple "I am the light of the world" from John 8:12. The teaching fulfils the prophecy found in Isaiah 9:2 that describes the coming Messiah as 'a great light'. As the 'Light of the World' Jesus dispels the darkness of our lives, brings life in all its fulness, and guidance for living. Many lives are still shadowed by fear, futility, addiction and past hurts but as we discover what it means to follow Jesus we can live in the light of Christ.
