Who will go? Jesus will!

Isaiah’s prophecy in 9:6-7 has been held onto by Jews across the generations – a coming king who would free them from oppression from the Assyrians (in Isaiah’s day) or from the Romans (in Jesus’ day). But the prophecy that Isaiah goes on to share in Isaiah 53 caused problems for the Jews – the idea of a suffering servant didn’t fit with their image of a conquering hero.

Jo walks us step by step through the ways that prophecies spoken 740 years before his birth were revealed in the life and death of Jesus, giving us a clear picture of the gospel in Isaiah. This might be the strangest ‘good news’ we will ever hear, but this story of a servant’s death and resurrection might be the best news we ever hear.
