Remembering, hoping

Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. (Psalm 119:49)

When did you feel most fulfilled and “on-track” in your Christian life? If the answer is anything other than ‘now’, think about what’s changed – what were you doing then that you’re not doing now? Has anything got in the way? Being ‘fulfilled’ and ‘happy’ are not necessarily the same thing, of course – some callings are challenging, and you can’t measure success in worldly terms. In the fifth of our year of monthly reflections on God’s individual calling on our lives, May is a month to take stock of how God has spoken to us, directed us and used us, up to now – and to get back to the job or role we were given, if we recognise we have gone off-course. “It is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose,” (Php 2:13)
